This is a bow made from Moonthril, an alloy forged by Pork Elves on their lunar colonies. It shoots regular wood arrows, though, because Moonthril is expensive, and it's embarrassing to shoot someone, then walk over and politely ask for your arrow back.

Since Pork Elves tend to be shorter than adventurers, this is either a medium-bow or a crossbow depending on how tall you are.
